I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in private practice at the Cape Town Medispa in Kloof Street, Gardens. I graduated with a Masters’ Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Cape, and completed my clinical internship at Tygerberg and Stikland Hospitals. Specific rotations included work in acute psychiatric settings within the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit, Adult Neuropsychiatry Unit and Stikland Hospital Psychology Unit which included Alcohol Addiction Treatment. After concluding my internship I provided psychological services to offenders during my community service at Drakenstein/Victor Verster Prison. I initially opened my practice in January 2012 at the Health Team Practice in Mouille Point. In March 2013, I transferred rooms to the Cape Town Medispa where I have since been working in private practice. I also lecture and supervise student counsellors at the Midrand Graduate Institute in Claremont.
How I work
I provide therapeutic services to both adults, adolescents and children, as well as conduct global assessments which encompasses diagnostic, emotional, social, developmental and behavioural aspects of the child. My training and understanding is psychodynamic, however I prefer to work in various modalities in order to suit my clients. I believe that every individual is unique and I tailor therapy to fit the client and their specific needs. I aim to maintain a collaborative, open and supportive relationship with all my clients at all times in order for them to feel comfortable with the treatment process.
